1st Birthday Letter to Mivaan

  1. Dear Jishu,

Today you transformed yourself into a toddler, its your 1st birthday. Happy Birthday my Big Boy! One year back, you arrived as a precious gift of God to our little world. We were very happy to see your tiny face, cute feet, fingers and everything.

I went dreaming a lot when I came to know your presence in my womb. The journey started from here! I immediately started reading on internet about unborn baby, how they form, how they grow, what they eat in mummy’s tummy etc. Yeah! it was very interesting and exciting time for me. Thinking! Thinking! and Wondering! I was a completely changed person. I felt as I am very strong as if I could do anything. I wanted you become a unique and special person  in life.

Before you born, I heard many expecting mummy’s stories like they not able to eat properly, getting very cranky, hair loss etc etc. But I was really concerned about your growth. I tried to eat every best possible foods, even though many of those I didn’t like before. Tried to ignore all those morning sickness, nausea, mood swings etc. I just felt like the happiest mother who could do anything for her baby, yet to born. Now, I really appreciate you; you are such a good baby who like to eat, love to play, love to travel, love to explore new things etc.

I had a gut feeling that you are a boy from the beginning. There’s just some things that a Mamma knows, and that was one of them for me. Everything I prepared as my boy will be coming soon… your father and I collected your tiny dresses, diaper, wipes, wrapper, socks, bedding set and many more to welcome you.

The decided day arrived and you came to our tiny world. The hospital days were very blissful, I couldn’t stop looking at you. I couldn’t believe you were actually here, and that you were mine. I remember the pediatrician coming to check on you a mere 36 hours after you were born; he looked at me and said, “Well, he is perfect. You can go home!” They discharged us.  Your daddy drove you around the square on your first car ride home.

Those first few months were very hard for me as I used to go crazy, exhausted due to sleepless night. But when I saw your smiley face, I used to forget everything and you could fill my heart with joy. Your paternal granny was looking after you upto 2 months. She is really fond of you. She likes to play with you, to feed you formula milk on her lap. I could see the pinch of tears in her eyes when she was ready to go back to native home. It was really difficult for her to part with you at that time. Then came your maternal granny! She looked after you next 4 and half months. I could leave you to her care at that time as I was very busy with my exams. You both enjoyed each others company. You used to show her anger at times, but did lots of fun with her. Granny fed you 1st complimentary food.  In the mean time, you completed 6 months and started rolling over on bed, started sitting, started crawling. It was so heartfelt moments to see you doing these activities.

I found that you are fond of travelling. After completion of 4 months, every weekend your father started taking us to places around. You started observing the environment and people around very fast and it was so excited watching you learning the things. You traveled many places in the 1st year as in Assam, Haryana, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Punjab.

Today we celebrated your birthday in a different way. In the morning we visited the famous Golden Temple in Amritsar. Punjab. We took blessings at the Gurudwara, enjoyed the charming beauty of the temple in both day and night. You enjoyed the fruit smash cake I specially prepared for you last night. Your Rimu mama also joined us in this  celebration. We also launched your website http://www.bmivaan.website.

You are the best thing that ever happened to us, Jishu. Thank you, God, for this little life.

Happy 1st Birthday, Jishu!

Love to the moon and back, always and forever.

Maa.
